Ciao, I'm Maddalena!
Hi there! I'm Maddalena, your friendly Italian-Canadian TEFL-certified language tutor! I was born in Toronto, one of the world’s most multi-cultural cities, and raised in the stunning, chaotic Italian capital, Rome. I'm fully bilingual, culturally curious, and have been sharing my love for languages in both Italian and English for almost a decade. My mission is to bring you closer to your language goals with engaging, relevant, and fun lessons.

If you reside in ITALY or a CET country, I teach from 8am - 8pm, Monday to Friday.
If you reside in NORTH AMERICA I teach from 7am - 2pm EST, Monday to Friday.

Bookings & Payments
To book a lesson:
Please email me at maddalenateacher@gmail.com with your preferred date / time and a bit about your language goals. I will get back to you within 24 hours to confirm the lesson!
For online lessons, I teach through Google Meet.

Payments:
I accept payments in EUR through bank transfers, PayPal, Wise or cash. You can decide whether to pay per lesson or end of month. If you select a package deal, it must be paid upfront.
Once we book our first lesson, I will send you my payment details.

Everything You Need to Know
How do I book a lesson?
Email me at maddalenateacher@gmail.com with your preferred date and time. You'll then receive a confirmation email from me within 24 hours and we'll be set!

​What are your working hours?
If you reside in ITALY, my working hours are from 8am - 8pm, Monday to Friday.
If you reside in NORTH AMERICA I teach from 8am - 2pm EST, Monday to Friday.
Are all of your classes online?
No, if you live in Rome I'd be happy to teach you in-person at your place or in a nice coffee shop.
How do online lessons work?
I will send you a Google Meet link prior to the lesson and then once we're connected I'll share my screen with you and we'll jump right in.

​How do in-person lessons work?
​We schedule a day and time and agree on a place to meet, whether it's the student's home or a caffè. I live in Roma nord and the neighbourhoods that I can easily reach in Rome are Parioli, Flaminio, Ponte Milvio, Salario, Trieste, Conca d'Oro, Piazza Sempione ed Esquilino.

How does the first lesson work and what do I need to bring?
Just yourself! The first lesson is important for me to get to know your level, language goals and interests so we can figure out the best-suited learning plan for you. I have lots of teaching materials to choose from and after the first lesson I'll send you an email with links to e-learning books, PDFs and podcasts and recommend some textbooks you can buy, if you wish.

How does payment work?

What is your cancellation policy?
Plans can change! If you cancel or reschedule your lesson 24 hours in advance you will not be charged or lose a lesson if you've purchased a package-deal. However, any changes made less than 24 hours in advance have to be charged at the full rate as I’ve often turned down students to keep the time reserved. Thanks for your understanding!
